What a great day we had in Yakima. So many girls set Personal Records...Freshman Megan Floyd ran a lifetime best 27.61 in the 200 and Sophomore Shaelyn Pearson a lifetime best in 400 with a 63.39. Anisa Allaet won the 1600 and Shelby Kantner took first in the Triple Jump. You can find all of the results here.
A Big Congrats to our JV/Frosh Team for a Victory Today...You can find results HERE.
For the Varsity it was a tough day for the Ferris Girls on the Track. On the Field our athletes had a great day lead by a Freshman Record for Chrissy Fitzgerald and Two PR's by Hayley Sharkey. Sorry parents for the late finish. That was not a well run meet and should have been over much sooner.
We had a great day at West Valley with over 1200 athletes from around the Inland Empire. We had some great performances with Sinva Areta joining the All Time List in the Discus (9th Best in Ferris History). You can find all of the results here.

So proud of our Seniors as they lead our team into the 2014 season. They cooked and served a spaghetti dinner to welcome all of our newcomers onto the team as well as encourage the returners to have a great season. We do things a little different on the Ferris Ladies Track & Field Team...ALL IN!!
Make sure you get your paperwork turned in!!
What a great day we had with numerous girls stepping up to score some big points. We were hit hard this week with various issues and had 6 girls missing off of our varsity team today but still won both meets. We outscored Prep 79 to 71 and Rogers 103 to 47. This meet was highlighted by a narrow victory in the 4 x 1 relay (.02 seconds) with 2 girls who had not run the relay with us before. Our girls should be proud of the work they did.
In another crazy windy track meet Shelby Kantner and Anisa Allaet have great performances. Both of them placed 6th in the triple jump and 1600 respectively and both set season PR's for themselves. Sinva Areata also had a big PR for the season throwing the shot 33'. Congrats to all the girls who competed.
Well the warm weather couldn't last forever. West Valley did a great job of hosting a rather large meet (over 1600 athletes) allowing everyone to get marks in and begin to get tuned up for the beginning of our season. One of our standout performers was Sharaya Roberts throwing a lifetime best in the discus 90'02".
Don't just sit and watch...be a player!!! We will split up into teams and play 5 on 5 games in pool play then bracket a tournament to crown a champion!!! We will also have a 3 point competition in the middle of the evening. Prizes will be given!! There is a $5 donation with the proceeds going to the ferris girls track team.
Gym opens at 5:30pm...Games begin at 6:00pm
This is the first night of the NCAA Tournament so of course we will have the games playing on projectors so you won't miss a minute of that action either!!
We had the nicest weather for a jamboree in years and the girls did great!! All the coaches were very excited with what we saw yesterday. Many girls doing new events, freshman coming out and setting some great marks, as well as our veterans tuning up for a great season. You can find results here. Can't wait for saturday at the West Valley Invite.
